At this point it is also worth noting that for a conventional wine crop to convert to organic under EU regulations takes a minimum of 3 years, follow this with wine ageing practices of a further three years would mean that it would take six years before these wines can be marketed. This might help explain why large scale wine producers continue to tread carefully when approaching the organic wine sector.
